THE LIGHT WE LEAVE BEHIND
AN INTIMATE IMMERSIVE WATER, SOUND
AND LIGHT EXPERIENCE BY EMMIT FENN
100 GUESTS PER PERFORMANCE
WHAT STAYED WITH YOU
After each performance, we asked our audience one question.
“Emotion. Connection. An open heart. The music was deep and sensitive and triggered an overwhelming amount of feelings to arise. I cried deep and hard, almost like someone had died - but it wasn’t sadness, it was beauty.”
— LISSA
“That was one of the most remarkable pieces of art I've ever seen. From the entrance to the first note, and from the start of the rain to Emmit's closing word, I was deeply moved. Emmit and team have created something truly unique and I cannot wait to see where you go from here. That was simply incredible!!!”
— WYATT MANOLAKAS
“What stayed with me most was the atmosphere of sincerity, humility, and gratitude that surrounded the entire performance. The music itself felt immersive and emotionally honest, but what touched me deeply was Emmit’s closing speech — the way he spoke about his team, their talents, their hard work, and his gratitude toward them. It did not feel performative or self-centered. It felt human, grounded, and full of heart. As someone who works in a creative field, I often see how easy it is for art to become driven by ego or image. This experience felt different. It reminded me that beauty becomes even more powerful when it is created with humility, collaboration, and genuine appreciation for others.”
— CARMEN DEVINE
“The performance was incredible, and I loved the monologue at the end, it was so beautiful and inspiring absolutely would recommend to others such a unique experience, thank you!!!”
— DANIEL NONO
“I felt reset. I felt a new beginning after the experience, and that restart allowed me to stay in the present and go into a new work week fully recharged.”
— KYLE SVENDSEN
“Well this whole experience was the reminder that the way we move through life truly impacts the people around us. It was emotional, grounding, and beautifully human in a way that’s hard to fully explain until you experience it yourself. I walked away feeling more present, more grateful, and more intentional about the kind of energy and love I leave with others every day. The experience created a space that felt deeply reflective without ever feeling forced, and it left a lasting impression on me long after it ended.”
— CHRISTIAN SERGIO DE LA TORRE
“The concept as a whole is something out of a dream. As a person in experiential production, I knew it was so difficult to pull off - there is no playbook and I'm so stoked to have had the chance to experience it. Another thing, it felt like everyone there was truly stoked to be there and believed in it.”
— ALEXANDRIA ANDERSON
“a beautiful and moving experience, one I've actually never experieced before!! EPIC”
— EV
“The fact that the whole thing was just such a different and special experience, unlike the usual venue/club/theater setup. Bravo!”
— JAYSON LARSON
“This performance was nothing like anything else I’ve experienced before. It was a privilege to experience this performance.”
— ARMEN KAPSHANYAN
“A masterful and memorable experience. Stunning music. And the set production was incredibly artful.”
— M WRIGHT
“Emmit and the intimate’s team incredible ingenuity at putting such an innovative, thoughtful and special show together. Emmit’s speech and parting msg (about the light) in the end + getting to see his inner world like meeting his super cool and incredible dad!”
— RACHEL LEUNG
“The emotion of the music. It was beautiful beyond words.”
— BRITTNEY LIFSEY
“The ambiance and mood of the music was perfect. It felt like a sacred dream”
— WILLIAM
“I have been listening to your music for years and had no idea how much you innovate to make it happen. The blending of tech and art was incredible and your talk at the end was illuminating itself.”
— JERAMI BROWN
“The care put into every part of the experience- free drinks, greeted by your friends, a calm, welcoming environment, the CARPET when you walk in- so soft. it like put my senses on high alert that i was entering a very special place. the darkness and mystery around this event was extremely cool. having actual lounge beds for couples was an incredible detail. im sure that was a large expense, but it added so much to the experience. i would pay so much more money to have that as an option at every concert and movie experience. so so comfortable.”
— NELS ARNE
“The team work that I saw, I was able to see the love and passion that every person involved in this project has. I don’t see that often everything now on day feels like fake or just to make money.”
— AURORA
“Emmit! THIS WAS SO MEANING FULL & YOU CAN TELL SO MUCH EFFORT THAT WAS PUT INTO THIS PERFORMANCE - JUST INCREDIBLE & HEARTFELT - I COULD FEEL THIS DEEP DOWN, I cried. SO talented & CANT WAIT for the next adventure!”
— SASHA TAHOE
“I felt so nurtured and rejuvenated. Slept like a baby that night. The grassroots feel of the event, especially the guy who announced how we would be led into the venue, was so personal. Felt like a community event, not a Hollywood over-production. I loved it.”
— ONDINE
“The creativity and dedication to making this idea, vision, and dream a reality not only for yourself but for those who showed up. The story you shared about figuring out one light to the first show to the second to now this show with the water... I'm excited to see how this continues to evolve and grow.”
— SHANNON WHALEN
“My friend I brought with said he felt healed as we left the venue. That really stuck with me because I felt the same way. We both felt grounded, healed, and hopeful all from this experience. It was so inspiring to feel the energy and heart put into this experience.”
— KIA KNAPP
“The potential of working with elements in a controlled environment, and creating sound and visual experiences that stand out from the typical show. I really love that you’re doing something different and experimenting with all the different elements. Thank you for sharing your art 🤍”
— ELLEN HO
“Inspiration! I have been dreaming of incorporating piano into my sound healing practice along with water. Floating sound baths, sound etc. the light show took it to another level of peace & calm. A truly magical experience. Thank you.”
— ALLISON SPIEGEL
“I really enjoyed this experience. I loved the blue lights with the rain water. That was my favorite part. (I wish that portion was a bit longer.) I liked how there were different light colors too. I was only expecting 1 light color like the past performances, so it was a pleasant surprise when I saw the other light colors. I think it was was wonderful that there was three instruments being played, there was "texture" to the music. I did get chills in certain parts of the performance, which was really nice. It was also fun walking on the concerte slabs to get to my seat. lol”
— ANDREA
“What didn’t stay with me. It was a incredible show. I felt so calm and able to get lost in it. There were moments that I felt I was experiencing life past and present memories flash back. It felt like being in a piece of art. Truly an amazing show.”
— MERCEDES DIEP
“Everything: it was beautiful visually and musically. the generosity and kindness of everyone who helped to put this together was so special and every detail of care for the viewers was much appreciated. Also from the audience’s point of view it was extremely well organized!”
— ROZ CHAO-TEMPLEMAN
“The total experience of the show was incredible. The time and effort that went into the set design, light placement and synchronization was amazing. Seating was close and comfortable.”
— JEFF KERNOCHAN
“The feeling. It was such a beautiful show. I was rushed with emotion. The experience took me to my favorite time —my childhood.”
— TIARRA HAMMOND
“Calmness!!! All Of it just silently screamed peace!”
— TAYLOR UFFELMAN
“The peaceful, calming and unifying energy of the whole experience. From the moment we checked in, it felt very communal and loving and open. We went for our 4-year anniversary (surprised my wife)l, she was blown away!), it was just the perfect way to connect with each other (and everyone else in the room).”
— LORI TASHJIAN-MOORE
“The peace and uplifting energy your vision created.”
— KARINA
“This was one of those top tier life experiences — right up there with my first trips to Yosemite and Glacier National Park. What stayed with me was a renewed gratitude for everything I have, and an awareness of how fleeting our chances are to experience something this extraordinary. It reminded me of the family I need to reach out to and the depth of love I have for the people closest to me. I was in tears from the moment we walked in, but watching how deeply the show moved everyone around me was just as humbling as feeling it myself.”
— KAITI GREEN
“The pleasure of not having any phones in sight and everyone being present. The quiet, the sound of water, feeling of moisture, the comfort of the seating. The spaciousness around the seats and feeling classy and not like sardines. The memory of it all had more staying power because of the presence experienced. It was burner-esque in the combining of aural, visual, tactile senses being engaged.”
— CK
“Everything. It was wonderful, every aspect of it. I told so many people.”
— ZACH LIPSON
“The feeling of collective stillness the experience created. It felt intimate and quietly special - like everyone understood they were meant to slow down and fully absorb it.”
— ELIZABETH COOK
“In a world of gimmicks, this was simply gorgeous -- delicious. Even before the music started, the room was otherworldly -- in the most serene and tasteful way. The marketing didn't oversell, it undersold. There is simply no way of conveying through marketing the beauty of the immersion -- and that IS the beauty.”
— ARI ALLEN
“How organized and polished the whole thing was. The compositions are beautiful on their own but the accompanying light show was brilliant. I remember feeling fused to my chair throughout the show. It was a privilege to have attended.”
— DAN

FAQS
The Light We Leave Behind is a guided immersive experience that combines music, architecture, light, water, and moments of reflection across a series of interconnected environments. Guests journey through multiple immersive spaces before arriving at the final performance, with a lounge and bar area offering space to gather and connect before or after the performance.
The Light We Leave Behind is part live performance, part installation, and part guided experience. At its center is a live performance featuring original instrumental music composed specifically for the space by Emmit Fenn, built around piano and immersive sound. The performance takes place directly on the water, and guests will be seated on platforms that rest just above its surface, placing you fully inside the environment.
The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a live performance at its heart. Guests are encouraged to arrive 10–15 minutes early, as the experience is designed to unfold from the moment you enter.
No two performances are exactly alike. While the overall journey remains consistent, elements of the music, atmosphere, and experience may evolve from night to night, making each performance unique.
You will not. We have designed the space intentionally so you can be completely surrounded by water without getting wet.
We ask that phones remain put away for the duration of the experience. The Light We Leave Behind is designed as an opportunity to disconnect from distraction and fully engage with the present moment. To preserve the experience for everyone, our hosts may kindly ask guests using their phones to step outside briefly before returning.
Each performance is intentionally limited to approximately 90 guests. The experience was designed to be intimate, allowing everyone to move comfortably through the environments and fully engage with the music, architecture, and atmosphere of the space. Because of this limited capacity, performances may sell out in advance.
The experience is designed primarily for adults and older children who are able to remain quiet and attentive throughout the performance. Due to the immersive nature of the experience, we recommend that children under eight years old do not attend.
We are committed to making the experience accessible whenever possible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact info@thelightweleavebehind.com before attending and our team will be happy to assist :)
We encourage guests to dress as they would for a special evening out. While there is no formal dress code, we recommend comfortable footwear and advise against high heels, as the experience involves walking through multiple environments.
